ComicsPRO: ‘TMNT’ #300 Blind Bags, ‘Last Ronin’ Returns

IDW Publishing announced a blind bag program for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #300 as well as a one-shot that brings back the Last Ronin.  The publisher also revealed it has acquired the license for Hello Kitty comics.

The milestone 300th issue of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, by Gene Luen Yang and Freddie Williams II, will kick off a new story arc, “The City that Never Dies.”  The blind bags will include several different versions of a previously unpublished cover by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, the creators of the TMNT, as well as a variant by J. Scott Campbell and more to be announced.  The issue will also feature a backup story by Eastman and artist Tom Waltz.

Michelangelo returns from the dead in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin – Training Day, by the TMNT: The Last Ronin team of Eastman and Waltz, to prepare Casey Marie Jones, daughter of April O’Neil and Casey Jones, to continue the battle against the Foot Clan and eventually become the leader of the Turtles. The oversized one-shot will be released in July 2026.

On a lighter note, IDW announced it has partnered with Sanrio to publish all-ages Hello Kitty comics, starting with Hello Kitty: Hello World!, by writer Mariko Tamaki and artist Cody Lemieux, a new series that sends the title character and her friends on a trip around the world to solve a riddle, which leads to another riddle, and another… The first issue will go on sale on July 22, 2026, with covers by Min Ho Kim and Justine King.
