New York Toy Fair 2026 News: KessCo Unveils 'Sonic Knock'

Updates Deets on ‘One Piece: Dawn of Liberation’ and ‘Final Fantasy Saga’ Board Game

KessCo unveiled Sonic Knock, a new Sonic the Hedgehog board game, which will release into mass in August 2026 and then, into hobby retail around Q4 2026.

This is KessCo’s third Sonic the Hedgehog game (see “‘Sonic Roll’” and also “‘Sonic Speed Battle’“).  In this dexterity-based game, players flick character pucks across a 3D board to complete objectives and collect rings. Players can use their pucks to knock opponents off course, disrupt other lined-up shots, and just simply cause chaos on the board.  The game offers players toy-like game elements, which ring-stealing badniks and the Sonic loop.  The game is for two to eight players, ages 8 and up; plays in 30 minutes and will retail for $25.

They also updated details on One Piece: Dawn of Liberation (see ” ‘One Piece’ Board Game“) and the Final Fantasy Saga board game (see “Licenses Square Enix’s ‘Final Fantasy’“).  One Piece: Dawn of Liberation is a cooperative board game that is headed to Kickstarter in March 2026 with an expected launch by the end of the year.  It will have a retail price of $100, and there will be a retailer tier for the Kickstarter.

The Final Fantasy Saga board game features Final Fantasy I through Final Fantasy III content.  In this game, players can take on the roles of four different characters, which they can upgrade as the game goes on with spells, weapons, and armor.  The players will then engage in boss fights to level up through experience, and the play who gains the most experience by the end of the game wins.  This game is going directly to retail.
