Mattel Strikes Multi-Year Licensing Agreement With Paramount for 'TMNT'

Mattel, Inc. struck a multi-year licensing agreement with Paramount, a Skydance Corporation, to make products for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles brand.

The hot TMNT IP continues to make its rounds through different companies in both the toy and game space (see “Cowabunga, Dudes!” and also, “‘UniVersus CCG: TMNT’ Set“). This time, the Turtles will end up with Mattel for a few years, starting in 2027. Mattel has plans to produce action figures, playsets and accessories, vehicles, games, collectibles, and more with this license.

“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is one of the most successful entertainment franchises in history, and partnering with Paramount on this iconic property marks a significant moment for Mattel and the brand,” said Roberto Stanichi, EVP and Chief Global Brand Officer, about the deal. “The enduring power of the Turtles lies in their ability to evolve with each generation, and we are excited to bring these characters to life in new ways.”

They will also create new products for the animated movie sequel Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2 for 2027 (see “Mayhem Sequel and Series“) and an untitled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles live-action/CG animation hybrid movie in 2028.
