Doctor Doom Sets Out to Change History in 10-Issue Maxiseries

Evergreen Story by ‘One World Under Doom’ Writer Ryan North and Artist Francesco Mobili

Doctor Victor Von Doom sets out to change history in Doomquest, a new 10-issue maxiseries by Ryan North, writer of One World Under Doom (see “Preview: ‘One World Under Doom’ #1”) and Daredevil artist Francesco Mobili.  The story, which stands on its own, starts with Reed Richards’ plan to change history by going back in time and fix everything that went wrong.  Doom decides to beat him to it, the Fantastic Four get involved, and soon all parties are locked in a conflict that spans time and space.  Marvel Comics will publish the first issue on May 27, 2026, with a main cover by Alex Ross and variants by Ryan Stegman, Rose Besch, Fabrizio de Tommaso, MR Garcin, Nic Klein, John Romita Jr., and Luciano Vecchio.

“I thought we’d left Doom in a really interesting place with the events of One World Under Doom,” North said in a statement accompanying the announcement, “and I was looking forward to seeing what others do with him now – and I still am!  But when the chance came up to do an evergreen Doom story – meaning one set not in the immediate present but instead in the not-too-distant past, unshackled from his current status quo – it was really alluring, especially when I was told I could go as big and as crazy as I wanted. In short, this is the fun one: Doom at his absolute Doomiest as he careens his way through a quest through time, rewriting history in his image – all to ennoble and exalt his beloved Latveria.  It’s fun, it’s bombastic, and I can promise some absolute banger Doom moments (and speeches!) in it.”

The story will be previewed in Marvel’s Comics Giveaway Day comic Armageddon/X-Men #1 (see “PRHPS Reveals 2026 Not-Free-Comic-Book-Day Titles”).
