Dark Horse Comics will collect all 46 issues of Tales from the Crypt, one of the classic EC horror series of the 1950s, in a hardcover omnibus, the first complete collection of the series in a single volume. EC Archives: The Complete Tales from the Crypt Omnibus will include every story from the series, including work by Johnny Craig, Graham “Ghastly” Ingels, Jack Davis, Wally Wood, and Reed Crandall, among others, along with covers, text pieces, illustrations, and forewords by John Carpenter, Bruce Campbell, and other well known figures from the world of horror. The 1,032-page hardcover will be released in bookstores and comic shops on October 13, 2026, with an MSRP of $149.99.
Gemstone Publishing began publishing recolored hardcover volumes of EC Archives in 2006 (see “EC Comics Return in New Format”) and published three of a planned five hardcover volumes of Tales of the Crypt. Dark Horse took over the EC Archives license in 2013 (see “Dark Horse Gets EC Comics Library”) and published the last two volumes, then reissued the entire five-volume set in paperback format, wrapping up the series in 2025.
