Raina Telgemeier and Gale Gilligan, who have each adapted and illustrated multiple Baby-Sitters Club graphic novels will collaborate on a special graphic novel in honor of the property’s 40th anniversary this year. Baby-Sitters Club Super Special: Baby-sitters on Board! will be a graphic novel adaptation of the first Baby-Sitters Club Super Special novel, originally published in 1988.
The Super Special series was a series of 15 books, with stories longer than the novels in the regular series. The stories were told from the viewpoint of a different character each chapter; this first volume tells the story of a cruse to the Bahamas and a trip to an amusement park.
The regular Baby-sitters Club novel series, written by Ann M. Martin, launched in 1986 and has now grown to over 250 titles, with nearly 200 million books in print to date. In addition to this special graphic novel, Scholastic will release a special spin-off title, The Baby-Sitters Club Fan Edition: Baby-sitter Summer, and The Baby-Sitters Club: Friendship Crafts this year.
Baby-Sitters Club Super Special: Baby-sitters on Board! will be released by Scholastic graphic novel imprint Graphix as a 320-page hardcover on September 15, 2026.
