Upper Deck has acquired the license to Harry Potter to produce collectibles, the company announced.
This agreement between Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer products and Upper Deck enables Upper Deck to create premium collectibles to sell to Harry Potter fans worldwide. Upper Deck already has initial releases planned including a Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone 25th Anniversary Trading Card and a Fleer Ultra Harry Potter card set.
“Entertainment-based trading cards have always been a priority for Upper Deck, and Harry Potter has been on the radar for a long time,” said Travis Rhea, Director of Entertainment Brands at Upper Deck. “The timing of the upcoming 25th Anniversary of the first movie, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, is perfect to apply the best-in-class Upper Deck brands to the Harry Potter licensed product portfolio.”
The Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone 25th Anniversary Trading Card set features Upper Deck flagship insert cards, one of which will be a gold one-of-one card. The Fleer Ultra Harry Potter set will showcase Fleer Ultra inserts and original art trading cards with key characters.
Upper Deck will release Curse of Maraqua, a new Neopets Battledome TCG booster set, into retail (see ” New ‘Neopets Battledome TCG’“).
