Wizards of the Coast Reveals New Deets on 'Magic: The Gathering - Lorwyn Eclipsed'

Wizards of the Coast revealed new details on Lorwyn Eclipsed, a new booster set for Magic: The Gathering, which will be headed to retail on January 23, 2026.

The latest in-universe booster set is loaded with cards to collect and play with that feature artwork depicting the Lorwyn-Shadowmoor plane (see “‘Lorwyn Eclipsed’ Hits Preorder“).  The set contains a new planewalker card; Oko makes a move from Eldraine (see “‘Throne of Eldraine’ “) to the plane of Lorwyn to become Oko, Lorwyn Liege.  The set has a few flip cards that highlight the light versus dark theme of the set.

The shock lands get yet another reprint in this set to make them Standard legal for a three-year rotation cycle; these lands also come in borderless treatment.  Many of the creature cards revolve around typal subthemes, which include elves, goblins, merfolk, faeries and giants.

The Headlinder card for this set is the Bitterbloom Bearer mythic rare that comes in a variety of card treatments, including a serialized version.  The Special Guest cards for the set include Bitterblossom and Goblin Sharpshooter, and there are also 10 Japanese Showcase cards in the set.  The primary showcase treatment appears on Fable Frame cards, which offer a cozy, fairy tale art-style.

This set also has its own cycle of full-art basic lands featuring the terrain of both Lorwyn and Shadowmoor.  Additionally, the last Buy-a-Box promo, Harmonizing Crescendo, will be available with this set (see “WotC Ending Buy-a-Box Promos“).
