Dark Horse Manga will release three deluxe editions of works by Masamune Shirow, beginning in August 2026.
The Appleseed Deluxe Edition collects Books One through Four of Appleseed, translated by Dana Lewis, Toren Smith, and Duane Johnson, with letters by Tom Orzechowski, L. Lois Buhalis, John Clark and Sasquatch. The 848-page 7″ x 10″ hardcover volume will feature a wraparound, seven-color artwork cover, metallic, edge-gilded pages, four-color end sheets, and a sewn-in bookmark.
Street date for Appleseed Deluxe Edition is August 11 for bookstores and August 12 for comic stores. MSRP is $69.99.
Details and release dates for the second and third volumes, Appleseed Companion Deluxe Edition and Shirow Masamune Anthology Deluxe Edition, will be announced a future date.
It’s going to be a busy year for the works of the Ghost in the Shell creator in 2026. In addition to the Dark Horses collection, Kodansha Comics will release a boxed set of the uncensored Ghost in the Shell in February (see “Uncensored ‘Ghost in the Shell’ Boxed Set“), and an art book next fall (see “’Ghost in the Shell’ Art Book“).
