Nominations are open for the 2026 Power Retail Awards, which honor the best in retail innovation and creativity by brick-and-mortar tabletop game retailers worldwide, with some changes to the 2026 program. Nominations can be made by retailers, customers, publishers, business partners, and suppliers via this form until January 12, 2026.
For the 2026 awards, each nomination will apply to a store, rather than to a store and a category. According to the announcement, “All nominations are general, and GAMA’s Team Retail officers will sort finalists into the appropriate categories.” As they were last year, those categories are Retailer of the Year, Innovation in Games Retail, Outstanding Contribution to the Game Industry, and Outstanding Store Design (see “GAMA Power Retail Nominations“).
All nominees must have been in regular retail operation for at least one year. Previous winners are not eligible to win in the same category but can win in different categories.
Prizes have been reduced. For 2026, winners will receive a complimentary one-year membership in Gama and recognition in the online GAMA database and the Spring issue of Around the Table. Last year, winners received cash prizes ($1,000 for Retailer of the Year and $500 for each of the other three prizes), a year of free GAMA membership, recognition during the Origins Award Ceremony, and promotion on GAMA digital platforms.
