The Pokemon Company International will launch a full range of products for Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution – Ascended Heroes, a new set introducing Mega attack rare cards, in Q1 2026. The new rarity features attack names in Japanese Katakana.
The new set, inspired by the Pokémon Legends: Z-A videogame, brings new Mega Evolution Pokémon ex (including Mega Dragonite ex) and Trainer’s Pokémon, plus existing Mega Evolution Pokémon ex and Trainer’s Pokémon with new illustrations. Notable cards in the set include:
- 13 Mega Evolution Pokémon ex
- 6 Tera Pokémon ex and 20 Pokémon ex
- 33 illustration rare Pokémon
- 14 ultra rare Mega Evolution Pokémon ex, Pokémon ex and Trainer cards
- 7 Mega attack rare Mega Evolution Pokémon ex
- 22 special illustration rare Mega Evolution Pokémon ex, Pokémon ex and Supporter cards
The set will be released in six products over three months:
January 30, 2026
Mega Evolution – Ascended Heroes Collection includes 2 booster packs, a promo card with a Trainer’s Pokémon, and a matching coin.
Mega Evolution – Ascended Heroes Tech Sticker Collection includes 3 booster packs, 1 rare-style promo card featuring Charmander or Gastly, and one sticker sheet featuring Mega Charizard Y or Mega Gengar, respectively.
February 20, 2026
Mega Evolution – Ascended Heroes Elite Trainer Box includes 9 booster packs, 1 illustration rare-style promo card featuring N’s Zekrom and gameplay accessories.
Mega Evolution – Ascended Heroes Mini Tins (in 5 designs, see Gallery below) include 2 booster packs, 1 art card, and 1 sticker card matching the tin’s art.
March 20, 2026
Mega Evolution – Ascended Heroes Premium Poster Collection includes 10 booster packs, 1 Mega attack rare-style promo card featuring Mega Gardevoir ex or Mega Locario ex, and 1 full-size, two-sided poster with art from the matching promo card.
April 24, 2026
Mega Evolution – Ascended Heroes Booster Bundle includes 6 booster packs.
Play will be introduced first on the Pokémon TCG Live app on January 29.
