Fantagraphics will publish Carl Barks: The Fantagraphics Studio Edition, a collection of the artists’ penciled pages for comics that he wrote, penciled, and lettered and were inked and colored by others. The book collects several complete stories, including Barks’ last Uncle Scrooge story, “King Scrooge the First,” and “Pawns of the Loup Garou.” The stories are readable as comics, and because the pages are reproduced from high resolution color scans and printed at the same size as the originals. Also included in the book are pencil drawings and finished covers that were not published at the time, and an introduction by editor and Barks scholar Kim Weston. The 160-page hardcover, with a trim size of 11.2″ x 14.3″ will go on sale on July 21, 2026, with an MSRP of $100.00.
