Asmodee Picks Up 'Cthulhu: Death May Die'

Asmodee has picked up the Cthulhu: Death May Die IP from CMON.

The great unraveling of CMON continues. After unloading five Eric M. Lang games onto Tycoon Games and sending Zombicide off to Asmodee (see “Asmodee Snaps Up ‘Zombicide’“), CMON made a second deal with Asmodee to hand them Cthulhu: Death May Die. This cooperative game, designed by Rob Daviau and Eric M. Lang, raised over $2.4 million on its initial Kickstarter and has spawned several expansions since 2019.

Cthulhu: Death May Die is a strong brand with exciting development potential,” said Asmodee CEO Thomas Koegler of the acquisition. “Our newly created crowdfunding team, led by David Preti, is excited to oversee the fulfillment of the 2025 crowdfunding campaign of Cthulhu: Death May Die – Forbidden Reaches, which has generated great anticipation among players. As our second bolt-on acquisition since our listing on Nasdaq Stockholm, it is fully aligned with our value-accretive M&A strategy.”

Asmodee also recently announced that it has launched Moodbox Games, a brand-new party game studio (see “New Party Game Studio“).
