People on the Move: GAMA Hires First COO

The Game Manufacturers Association has hired its first Chief Operating Officer, the organization announced.

The new COO hired by GAMA is Melinda Prickett. She is new to the games industry, having the majority of her experience in the nonprofit organization space. Prickett spent 11 years with the Girl Scouts of Ohio’s Heartland (GSOH), where she held the position of COO there for just under 5 years, after which she became the Vice President of Statewide Developmental Disability Services at ElevateDD. In her new role at GAMA, Prickett will manage day-to-day operations.

“I love mission-driven work, I love making our world a better place,” said Prickett on her hiring. “I like to be able to facilitate what we do. When we are operationally efficient, the staff are better supported, our members are better supported, and we’re accomplishing our mission.”

Along with the new COO, GAMA has also restructured its current employees into three teams: Member Services, Events, and Communications. Julie Yeager will lead Member Services as their new director, Gregoire Boisbelaud will head up Events, and the Communications Director will be Eric J. Francis, who was also hired recently. Additionally, Paul McGraw has moved from his role as Events Manager to become the new Hospitality Manager at GAMA.

GAMA is also expanding its workforce. They are currently interviewing people for the following roles: finance and operations coordinator, events manager, events coordinator, exhibitor coordinator, and a part-time committee coordinator.

The Game Manufacturers Association (GAMA) also recently joined the New Civil Liberties Alliance (NCLA) federal lawsuit that challenges the President’s tariffs imposed under the IEEPA (see “GAMA Joins NCLA Federal Lawsuit“).
