Nexus Omnibus Series to Launch

Big Comics will launch a series of omnibi collecting the entire library of comics featuring the long-running property, at retail in December.  Distribution is being handled by Philbo Distribution, which specializes in small independent publishers.

This volume was originally offered on crowdfunding platforms, where it raised over $250,000, and will now make its way to trade.  Crowdfunding backers will be shipped before the trade copies.

Nexus Deluxe Hardcover Omnibus Vol. 1 will include the three Capital Comics b/w magazine issues (Vol. 1, #1-#3), the six Capital Comics color issues (Vol. 2, #1-#6), and issues #7 – #26 of that series, published by First Comics.

With stories by Mike Baron and art by Steve Rude, who co-created the property, this initial run of stories launched a property that has been published for over 40 years.  Nexus was an important early attempt to create a superhero comic targeted specifically at the teen and adult fans who shopped at comic stores. (Note, Capital Comics was a sister company to the publisher of Internal Correspondence, the magazine predecessor of ICv2.)

The four-volume series of omnibi, overseen by writer and co-creator Baron, will collect all available Nexus stories, including crossovers, across the Capital Comics, First Comics, Dark Horse Comics, and Alien Books publisher eras.  Each volume will go through crowdfunding first, then be released to trade.

The volume will be released with two covers, an A cover by Steve Rude and a variant with cover by Paul Gulacy.

Both versions of the 880-page 7.63″ x 11″ hardcover volume will street on December 17, 2025 at $149.99 MSRP.
