Scott Dunbier’s Act 4 Publishing and Image Comics studio Skybound will release The Amazing Spider-Man by Steve Ditko Artist’s Edition in 2026, the companies announced. The new volume, produced as the first in a multi-book deal between Act 4, Skybound, and Marvel Comics, is being assembled with the cooperation of the Ditko family.
Comics in the Artist’s Edition will include Amazing Fantasy #15, Amazing Spider-Man #33, dozens of classic splash pages, story pages, covers, and fan drawings from the early 1960s.
The 15″ x 22″ hardcover will be released at $195 MSRP to comic stores on May 6, 2026 and in the book channel on Tuesday, May 18, 2026. Two covers, including a Direct Market Exclusive, will be offered.
Dunbier announced the creation of Act 4 in 2024, and the deal with Skybound for distribution early this year (see “Exclusive: Skybound to Distribute Act 4“).
In conjunction with the Ditko book announcement, Act 4 and Skybound also teased other upcoming releases, including J. Scott Campbell’s Danger Girl Artist Edition, Dave Stevens’ Covers and Stories’ Connoisseur Edition, Jason Pearson’s Body Bags Artist’s Edition, and Paul Smith’s Leave It to Chance Artist’s Edition. Previously announced 2026 releases include Wally Wood’s EC Stories Artist’s Edition – EXPANDED and Mike Mignola’s Hellboy in Hell Book 2 Artist’s Edition (see “Wally Wood, ‘Hellboy in Hell’ Artist’s Editions“).
