DC to Collect Morrison & Quitely's 'Batman & Son' as Absolute Edition

DC will collect Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely’s Batman & Robin storyline in the Absolute Edition format, as a 712-page hardcover with an 8 1/8” x 12 1/4” trim size. The volume will collect Batman & Robin #1–16 (2009–2011), Batman: The Return #1 (2011), Batman: The Return of Bruce Wayne #1–6 (2010), plus bonus material from an earlier Absolute Edition, and will be released on June 2, 2026, with an MSRP of $125.

Morrison and Quitely launched Batman & Robin in 2009, and it ran for 26 issues, but different creative teams took over after #16, while The Return of Bruce Wayne was written by Morrison with art by Philip Tan, Frazer Irving, and others. The story is set after the events of Final Crisis and the “Batman R.I.P.” and “Battle for the Cowl” storylines, in which Bruce Wayne is thought to be dead and Dick Grayson is selected to be the new Batman, with the defiant Damian Wayne, Bruce’s son, as the new Robin. The series has been collected in several different formats, including 2012’s Absolute Batman and Robin: Batman Reborn, which did not include The Return of Bruce Wayne.

Morrison’s Batman and Son was published as an Absolute Edition in 2024 (see “Grant Morrison ‘Batman’ Issues Collected in Deluxe Edition”).
