Act 4 Publishing, the new line of art books edited and curated by Eisner-winning editor Scott Dunbier, has announced two new titles to be published in early 2026: Wally Wood’s EC Stories Artist’s Edition – EXPANDED and Mike Mignola’s Hellboy in Hell Book 2 Artist’s Edition.
The first edition of the Wally Wood book was published by IDW Publishing in 2012 and was nominated for an Eisner Award; it is long out of print. Wally Wood’s EC Stories Artist’s Edition – EXPANDED will include the 18 stories from the original edition plus 10 additional stories. The contents include the unpublished “Spawn of Venus” story created for the canceled EC title Three-Dimensional Science Fiction. Wally Wood’s EC Stories Artist’s Edition – EXPANDED will be released on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, with an MSRP of $195.
Mike Mignola’s Hellboy in Hell Book 2 Artist’s Edition will include issues 6-10 of the Dark Horse Comics series as well as covers and story pages. The first Hellboy in Hell Artist’s Edition was published by IDW Publishing in 2013 (see “IDW Plans ‘Artist Editions’”) and included the first five issues of the series. Mike Mignola’s Hellboy in Hell Book 2 Artist’s Edition will be released on April 7, 2026, with an MSRP of $150.
Dunbier pioneered the Artist’s Edition format while he was an editor at IDW. The books are shot in color from the original black and white, showing alterations and notes, and reproduced at full size, 15″ x 22″. He announced in 2024 that he was striking off on his own to form a new publishing company, Act 4 (see “Two Publishers and a Universe to Launch at Comic-Con“), and Skybound and Image Comics subsequently announced that they would be distributing Act 4 titles (see “Exclusive: Skybound to Distribute Scott Dunbier’s Act 4 Publishing“).
