The Cartoonist Cooperative has launched Nib + Ink Fest 2025, the inaugural online convention and celebration! Affectionately known as NIF, this month-long virtual festival features over 145 comics across their Marketplace, Sampler, and Oops All Comics! Zine, as well as over two dozen online events happening every weekend in May!
NIF Marketplace
The NIF Marketplace includes more than 70 digital comics and zines by over 60 artists from the Co-op, including cartoonists such as Ashanti Fortson, Jamila Rowser, Mikoto, Sarah Winifred Searle, and Sloane Hong.
In addition, they have a series of interviews with many of the contributors available on the Cartoonist Cooperative Journal where readers can learn more about the creators and the comics available in NIF 2025!
NIF Sampler
The free, downloadable Sampler includes sample pages from 25 ongoing webcomics from creators such as Cori Walters, Julie Mapes, Kody Okamoto, Sam Cheng/Kindlespark, and SpicyMotte. Check out the comics and then follow all of these spectacular webcomics regularly after reading each of the condensed samples!
Oops All Comics! Zine
Our Oops All Comics! Zine fundraiser collects more than 50 brand new, single page comics, all created by Co-op artists such as Alyssa Ragni, Amanda J Ellis, Jamie A. Mosquera, Saleha Chowdhury, and Sarah Whang interpreting the 2025 theme “Colourful!”
The fundraiser zine, Sampler, and Marketplace will all only be available from May 1 – May 31 on nif.cartoonist.coop, so be sure to stop by during the month to get your hands on these goodies!
NIF Events
NIF is also hosting (or have hosted by the time you’re reading this) over 24 free-to-attend, online events throughout the month of May, including portfolio reviews from Becca Carey, Jordie Bellaire, Michael Walsh, Nero Villagallos O’Reilly, and Screen Tones! The full slate is available at nif.cartoonist.coop/events, where the links to attend will go live right at their start times each day. Attendees will be able to ask questions in the live Zoom rooms, or they can opt for a viewing-only experience by watching the live stream on the Co-op’s YouTube channel.
