Matt Fraction will write The Fantastic 4: First Steps, a new comic one-shot set in the world of the film (see “’Fantastic Four’ Trailer“), and telling the story of the team’s early adventures. The art, by Mark Buckingham, will use the retro look of the film. In a meta twist, the comic will be published by the Future Foundation, the fictional group formed by Mister Fantastic to improve humanity’s future.
The Fantastic 4: First Steps #1 will feature a cover by Phil Noto, and be released on July 2.
