Niantic is continuing to announce new events and content for Pokémon GO. Read on below to learn more:
Applin is ready to be the apple of your eye—you might find them in apples during the event!
Pokémon GO’s Sweet Discoveries event runs from Thursday, April 24, at 10:00 a.m. to Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time, and it will be fruitful! Trainers will discover apples in the wild—tap them, and you’ll be awarded with Sweet Apples, Tart Apples, or encounters with Pokémon—including Applin, if you’re lucky! Collect lots of Sweet Apples and Tart Apples to help you evolve Applin into Flapple or Appletun.
Look forward to these sweet bonuses during the event.
- 2× Candy for catching Pokémon.
- Increased chance to encounter Shiny Delibird and Shiny Skwovet.
- Increased chance to hatch Shiny Delibird, Shiny Cherubi, and Shiny Skwovet.
- Catching Delibird or Skwovet will award Berries.
- Increased chance for apples to appear at Mossy Lure Modules.
- 1/2 Egg Hatch Distance for first three Eggs hatched using the Pokémon GO Egg hatching widget.

Event-themed Field Research opportunities will also be ripe for the picking, with tasks that award Stardust and encounters with event-themed Pokémon. Timed Research and Paid Timed Research will also be available. Rewards for Timed Research include a Mossy Lure Module, a Tart Apple, a Sweet Apple, and encounters with event-themed Pokémon. Paid Timed Research is available for US$2.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency) with rewards including two Mossy Lure Modules and encounters with event-themed Pokémon. If you’d like, you can purchase and gift tickets to Pokémon GO friends that you’ve achieved a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher with. Timed Research and Paid Timed Research tasks must be completed and their rewards must be claimed by Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time.

Please note that Timed Research expires. The tasks associated with this Timed Research must be completed and their rewards must be claimed before Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time.
Paid Timed Research
For US$1.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you’ll be able to access event-exclusive Timed Research.
Timed Research rewards include the following.
- Two Mossy Lure Modules
- Encounters with event-themed Pokémon, including Delibird, Skwovet, Applin, and more!
Trainers will be able to purchase and gift tickets to any of their Pokémon GO friends that they have achieved a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher with. Please note that purchases—including those made for other Trainers—are non-refundable (subject to applicable law and the exceptions set forth in the Terms of Service). Tickets cannot be purchased with PokéCoins.
