Pokémon GO Bug Out event now underway worldwide until March 30 at 8 p.m. local time featuring Bug-type Pokémon, the Pokémon GO debuts Sizzlipede and Centiskorch and more, full event details revealed

Niantic is continuing to announce new events and content for Pokémon GO. Read on below to learn more:

Fly high and dig deep during this celebration of Bug-type Pokémon.

Pokémon GO’s Bug Out event kicks off March 26, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. to March 30, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time and finally answers the age-old question, “to bee or not to bee”—and the answer is a resounding, “to bee.” Sizzlipede makes its Pokémon GO debut as the event’s headliner, along with its final Evolution, Centiskorch. Plus, you won’t want to be sluggish when it comes to making the most of a bevy of event bonuses.

  • 2x XP for catching Pokémon with Nice Throws or better
  • Increased Candy for Nice Throws or better
  • Lure Modules will attract Sizzlipede during the event
  • Increased chance to encounter Shiny Wurmple and Shiny Venipede
  • If enough Pokémon are caught with help from a single Lure Module, additional Pokémon will appear near the lured PokéStop

Keep an eye out for the following Bug-type Pokémon appearing more frequently in the wild.

There will also be plenty of event raids, though they just mite prove to be a challenge.

You’ll also be able to dig into research opportunities including Field Research, Timed Research, and paid Timed Research. In addition to event-themed Field Research, Trainers can complete Timed Research to earn rewards including a Lure Module and encounters with event-themed Pokémon such as Shedinja, Sizzlipede, Kleavor, and more. Timed Research must be completed and rewards claimed before March 30, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time. Paid Timed Research is available for US$2.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency). Rewards for completing the paid Timed Research include one Lure Module, two Premium Battle Passes, and encounters with event-themed Pokémon.

Event Bonuses

  • 2× XP for successfully catching Pokémon with Nice Throws or better.
  • Increased Candy for Nice Throws or better.
  • Increased chance for Candy XL for Nice Throws or better for Trainers level 31 and up.
  • Lure Modules will attract Sizzlipede during the event.
  • Increased chance to encounter Shiny Wurmple and Shiny Venipede.
  • If enough Pokémon are caught with help from a single Lure Module, additional Pokémon will appear near the lured PokéStop.

  • You can use 50 Sizzlipede Candy to evolve Sizzlipede into Centiskorch.

  • One Lure Module
  • Encounters with event-themed Pokémon, including Shedinja, Sizzlipede, Kleavor, and more!

Please note that Timed Research expires. The tasks associated with this Timed Research must be completed and their rewards must be claimed before Sunday, March 30, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time.

Paid Timed Research

For US$2.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you’ll be able to access event-exclusive Timed Research.

Timed Research rewards include the following.

  • One Lure Module
  • Two Premium Battle Passes
  • Encounters with event-themed Pokémon, including Heracross, Sizzlipede, Kleavor, and more!

Trainers will be able to purchase and gift tickets to any of their Pokémon GO friends that they have achieved a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher with. Please note that purchases—including those made for other Trainers—are non-refundable (subject to applicable law and the exceptions set forth in the Terms of Service). Tickets cannot be purchased with PokéCoins.

Please note that Timed Research expires. The tasks associated with this Timed Research must be completed and their rewards must be claimed before Sunday, March 30, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time.
