Evolve Floragato during Sprigatito Pokémon GO Community Day or up to five hours afterward to get a Meowscarada that knows the Charged Attack Frenzy Plant

Community Days are going bigger during Pokémon GO: Dual Destiny!*

Starting with January Community Day, get ready to experience new free Timed Research, paid Special Research, and rare Field Research as you search for the featured Pokémon with Season-exclusive Special Backgrounds in Pokémon GO: Dual Destiny.

*We’re trying out new things for Community Day and will reevaluate these changes for next Season and onward.

January 2025 Community Day: Sprigatito

Sunday, January 5, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time

Sprigatito, the Grass Cat Pokémon, will be featured during January Community Day!

Featured Pokémon

Sprigatito will appear more frequently in the wild.*

*If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny one!

Featured Attack

Evolve Floragato (Sprigatito’s Evolution) during the event or up to five hours afterward to get a Meowscarada that knows the Charged Attack Frenzy Plant.

Frenzy Plant

  • Trainer Battles: 100 power
  • Gyms and raids: 100 power

Attack Availability Updates

Starting with the event and continuing afterwards, Meowscarada will be able to learn the Charged Attack Flower Trick.

Flower Trick

  • Trainer Battles: 30 power
  • Gyms and raids: 75 power

Community Day Special Research

For US$2.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you’ll be able to access the Sprigatito Community Day–exclusive Special Research. Complete the Community Day-exclusive Special Research for even more rewards including a Premium Battle Pass, a Rare Candy XL, and three encounters with Sprigatito that have Dual Destiny–themed Special Backgrounds.

  • Stay tuned for when tickets for the Special Research go live.
  • Don’t forget: you’re now able to purchase and gift tickets to any of your friends that you’ve achieved a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher with.
  • To gift a ticket, tap the Special Research ticket in the in-game shop, then tap the Gift button instead of the Buy button.

Tickets are nonrefundable (subject to applicable law and the exceptions set forth in the Terms of Service). Please note that this Special Research will not include an in-game medal and will not feature a story.

*Certain restrictions apply. Gifting cannot be completed if the recipient has purchased a Special Research ticket or has been gifted one already.

Community Day Continued Timed Research

Keep Community Day going with a new Timed Research opportunity that will last for a week following the event!

Trainers that log in during January Community Day will receive Timed Research awarding an encounter with a Sprigatito that has a Dual Destiny–themed Special Background.

Please note that Timed Research expires. The tasks associated with this Timed Research must be completed and their rewards must be claimed before Sunday, January 12, 2025, at 10:00 p.m. local time.

Event Bonuses

  • 3× Stardust for catching Pokémon.
  • 2× Candy for catching Pokémon.
  • 2× chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL from catching Pokémon.
  • Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours.
  • Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for three hours.
  • Take a few snapshots during Community Day for a surprise!
  • One additional Special Trade can be made for a maximum of two for the day.*
  • Trades will require 50% less Stardust.*

*While most bonuses are only active during the three-hour event period, these will be active from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. local time.

Field Research

January Community Day–themed Field Research will be available! Catch Sprigatito to earn rewards such as Stardust, Great Balls, additional encounters with Sprigatito, and more!

If you GO out and explore with your community, you may even find Field Research that leads to encounters with Sprigatito that have Dual Destiny–themed Special Backgrounds—if you’re lucky!

PokéStop Showcases

Be on the lookout for Showcases at different PokéStops during Sprigatito Community Day!

Pokémon GO Web Store – Ultra Community Day Box

An Ultra Community Day Box featuring 10 Ultra Balls, one Elite Charged TM, and one Special Research ticket will be available on the Pokémon GO Web Store during the event for US$4.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency). This web store deal will be available starting December 30, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. PST, three days before the ticket is available in the in-game shop!

Event Bundles

Two Community Day bundles will be available during this event.

For 1,350 PokéCoins, you will get 50 Ultra Balls, five Super Incubators, one Elite Charged TM, and five Lucky Eggs.

For 480 PokéCoins, you will get 30 Ultra Balls, one Incense, three Super Incubators, and one Lure Module.

Check out the in-game shop to snag one of these bundles!

Stickers

You’ll be able to get event-themed stickers by spinning PokéStops, opening Gifts, and purchasing them from the in-game shop.
