A robust first print run wasn’t sufficient to satisfy demand for the Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees collected edition. The book, released in September 2024, has sold through a 20K print run, leading publisher IDW to announce an immediate reprint.
Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees, created, written, and drawn by Patrick Horvath, is part of a growing trend in cozy horror. It’s also a sales success, ranking second in graphic novel sales in comic shops for its release month (see “Top 20 Graphic Novels – September 2024“). It’s about a charming forest village populated by animal characters, including two serial killers (see “Spine-Tingling Graphic Novels“).
A sequel, Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees: Rite of Spring, has been announced, part of the IDW Dark horror imprint (see “IDW Launches Horror Imprint“). Horvath is also creating Free for All, a one-shot graphic novella, for Oni Press in 2025 (see “Oni Press to Publish Graphic Novella“).
