ElfQuest Kickstarter Reaches Funding in 10 Minutes

The ElfQuest RPG Kickstarter campaign achieved its funding target in under 10 minutes and reached $100,000 within half a day. This support for the deluxe remaster of the 1984 ElfQuest RPG, based on Wendy and Richard Pini’s graphic series, brings new stretch goals into focus, beginning with a Gamemaster screen at $125,000.

In its original release, Chaosium’s ElfQuest RPG, developed in collaboration with WaRP Graphics, did not feature a GM screen. The current campaign introduces a new 3-panel screen with artwork on one side and reference material on the other. This item will be added to the boxed set for backers who choose physical rewards, and it will also be available in digital format for PDF backers once the stretch goal is met.

Celebrating the game’s 40th anniversary, this edition expands beyond the original 1-inch box to a 2-inch design, featuring an array of items, including the Elfbook, Worldbook, character sheets, a map of the World of Two Moons, and reference sheets to assist gameplay. Further stretch goals include a world map, a custom dice set, and new creature standees, contingent on the campaign’s success.

First released in 1984, the ElfQuest RPG saw multiple reprints, and a second edition in 1986 combined materials from the initial set into a single volume. The remastered edition revisits the multi-book layout of the first edition, updated to incorporate errata and additional content.

The campaign aims to reintroduce players to the World of Two Moons, inviting them to explore the classic world and characters of ElfQuest. With stretch goals in place, the campaign promises to bring new elements to this established RPG as it approaches additional milestones.
