Maestro Media’s new tabletop RPG, The Smurfs: Roleplaying Game, launched on Kickstarter to a positive response from the community, achieving full funding in just 18 minutes. Designed by Kevin Borrup, known for BURN 2d6 and other titles, the game offers family-friendly adventures set in the beloved world of The Smurfs. Players can dive into unique storylines, either playing as iconic Smurf characters or creating their own, to experience personalized adventures in Peyo’s iconic setting.
Maestro Media’s CEO Javon Frazier expressed excitement about bringing The Smurfs universe to tabletop gaming, noting that the game allows fans to engage with the Smurf characters they love in new, interactive ways. Early backers of the campaign are eligible to receive a complimentary copy of The Smurfs: Hidden Village, Maestro Media’s first Smurfs-themed game, which garnered attention for its innovative licensed design at the TAGIE Awards.
Set in a universe that has entertained fans for decades, The Smurfs: Roleplaying Game invites players to explore Peyo’s world through imaginative storytelling. The game allows players to take on the role of a Smurf, whether familiar or original, embarking on various adventures, solving mysteries, and helping those in need. A free Quickstart Guide offers a preview of the gameplay, and those interested in contributing to the project’s design are invited to join a private group for early access and community feedback.
With over $119,000 pledged against a $10,000 goal, the Kickstarter campaign continues until November 23.
