WizKids has revealed Dungeons & Dragons: Edge of the Realms – Fields of Faerun, a new map-building game set to release in June. Designed by Phil Walker-Harding, known for games like Barenpark and Imhotep, this upcoming title allows players to explore the continent of Faerun within the Forgotten Realms universe.
In Edge of the Realms – Fields of Faerun, players take on the role of explorers working to construct individual maps of Faerun by drawing and placing map cards. Players aim to complete quests by linking terrain, landmarks, and cities across their maps. Using a card-drafting system that promotes simultaneous play, the game minimizes downtime, moving quickly through 15 rounds until a final score determines the top explorer.
The game includes art by Gerralt Landman, featuring 139 cards, 50 cubes, four tokens, five pawns, and a score pad. Suitable for two to four players aged 12 and up, it offers a playtime of around 30 minutes. The game will be available at a retail price of $24.99, with pre-orders now open.
