The Thunder Road: Vendetta Roleplaying Game has launched on Kickstarter, running from October 22nd to November 21st, 2024. Licensed from Restoration Games, this roleplaying game expands on the world of the Thunder Road: Vendetta board game and is designed by the same team.
Inspired by post-apocalyptic films such as Mad Max, the game allows players to create characters and navigate the wasteland in a high-speed, action-focused setting. Players can incorporate components from the board game into the RPG experience, including the use of boards and cars.
The game operates using the Polymorph system, which features simplified mechanics for ease of play. Character creation is streamlined, with players selecting from different vehicle types such as the Murderbike, Doom Buggy, Avenger, and Eliminator, each represented by a different dice size. Players can engage in a variety of activities, including racing, dueling, and maintaining settlements.
The Kickstarter campaign offers various rewards, including a deluxe hardcover book, a Driver’s Manual, a Roll20 module, a GM screen, and a Dice Car d12. Backers who pledge within the first 48 hours will receive an early backer bonus.
