Catch Version-Exclusive Pokémon to Help Complete Your Pokédex!
It’s time to track down some Pokémon you may have had trouble finding! Until Sunday, October 20, 2024, at 23:59 UTC, mass outbreaks of Oranguru, Passimian, Cramorant, Morpeko, Alolan Sandshrew, and Alolan Vulpix will be appearing throughout various locations.
The normally version-exclusive Pokémon appearing in these special mass outbreaks can be encountered in both the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet games during this event, so have fun completing your Pokédexes across the Paldea region, the land of Kitakami, and the Terarium at Blueberry Academy!
Receive a Shiny Meloetta in Pokémon HOME
You can receive a Shiny Meloetta as a special gift by completing the Paldea Pokédex, the Kitakami Pokédex, and the Blueberry Pokédex in the mobile device version of Pokémon HOME. Use this Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet mass outbreak event as an opportunity to help you complete your Pokédexes and add a Shiny Meloetta to your collection!

Mass outbreaks are a phenomenon in which many of the same species of Pokémon appear in one location. During limited-time mass outbreak events, certain Pokémon will become more likely to appear.
Check the Poké Portal for more information about what Pokémon are appearing in mass outbreak events.
• In order to participate in limited-time mass outbreak events, you need to have downloaded the latest update data and the latest Poké Portal News. You do not need a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership to receive the latest Poké Portal News.
• You can download the latest Poké Portal News by selecting Poké Portal from the X menu, then Mystery Gift, then Check Poké Portal News.
You’ll encounter normally version-exclusive Pokémon during these Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet events.
Are your Pokédexes in Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet missing a few entries? Perhaps you’re attempting to complete them to earn a Shiny Meloetta in Pokémon HOME? Well, you’re in luck, because from Thursday, October 17, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. PDT to Sunday, October 20, 2024, at 4:59 p.m. PDT, you can catch some hard-to-find Pokémon by taking part in special Tera Raid Battles and mass outbreaks that feature version-exclusive Pokémon.
The following Pokémon are normally exclusive to either Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet, but during this event, they will appear in both games. Look for them to show up more frequently in 5-star Tera Raid Battles throughout the Paldea region.
- Stonjourner
- Eiscue
- Armarouge
- Ceruledge
Whenever you see a sparkling pillar of light shining from a Tera Raid crystal, you can walk up to the crystal and interact with it to start a Tera Raid Battle with a Tera Pokémon. To find the Tera Pokémon featured in this event, you’ll also need to have downloaded the latest Poké Portal News. To do so, follow these steps:
- Select Poké Portal in the X menu.
- Select Mystery Gift.
- Select Check Poké Portal News.

Also during this event period, normally version-exclusive Pokémon will appear in special mass outbreaks throughout the Paldea region, the land of Kitakami, and the Terarium at Blueberry Academy. Like the above Tera Pokémon, these featured Pokémon can all be encountered in both Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. Look for the following Pokémon in these locations:

- Blueberry Academy – Alolan Sandshrew and Alolan Vulpix
