Full event details revealed for October Pokémon GO Community Day featuring Sewaddle and Shiny Sewaddle, Sewaddle Community Day Ticket now available for purchase

Niantic is continuing to announce new events and content for Pokémon GO on a regular basis. Read on below to learn more:

This Community Day, all you need-le is Sewaddle, the Sewing Pokémon.

Pokémon GO’s October 2024 Community Day promises to be sew much fun with Sewaddle playing a star role. On October 5 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, Sewaddle will be appearing more frequently in the wild, and Trainers will even have a chance to encounter Shiny Sewaddle—if they’re lucky. Evolve Swadloon (Sewaddle’s Evolution) during the event or up to five hours afterward to get a Leavanny that knows the Fast Attack Shadow Claw.

You’ll be able to pin your hopes on event bonuses as well, which include:

  • 2× Candy for catching Pokémon
  • 1/4 Egg Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed in an Incubator during the event
  • 2× chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL from catching Pokémon
  • Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours
  • Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for three hours
  • One additional Special Trade can be made for a maximum of two per day
  • Trades will require 50% less Stardust

And you’ll really be able to thread the needle of fun by taking part in Sewaddle Community Day–themed Special Research, available for US$1.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), as well as by completing Field Research tasks to earn rewards like Stardust, Great Balls, additional encounters with Sewaddle, and more.

Spin over to your nearest Gym for four-star Raid Battles featuring Swadloon from 5:00 p.m. to 10 p.m. local time on Community Day. Once the battle’s all stitched up, more Sewaddle will appear for 30 minutes around the Gym that hosted the raid. These four-star raids are not accessible via Remote Raid Passes—they can only be accessed with Raid Passes and Premium Battle Passes.

Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time

Featured Pokémon

Sewaddle will appear more frequently in the wild.*

*If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny one!

Featured Attack

Evolve Swadloon during the event or up to five hours afterward to get a Leavanny that knows the Fast Attack Shadow Claw.

Shadow Claw

  • Trainer Battles: 9 power
  • Gyms and raids: 6 power

Community Day Special Research

  • For US$1.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you’ll be able to access the Sewaddle Community Day–exclusive Special Research.
  • Stay tuned for when tickets for the Special Research go live.
  • Don’t forget: you’re now able to purchase and gift tickets to any of your friends that you’ve achieved a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher with.
  • To gift a ticket, tap the Special Research ticket in the in-game shop, then tap the Gift button instead of the Buy button.

Tickets are nonrefundable (subject to applicable law and the exceptions set forth in the Terms of Service). Please note that this Special Research will not include an in-game medal.

*Certain restrictions apply. Gifting cannot be completed if the recipient has purchased a Special Research ticket or has been gifted one already.

Event Bonuses

*While most bonuses are only active during the three-hour event period, these will be active from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. local time.

Bonus Raid Battles After Community Day

Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. local time

After the three-hour Community Day event ends, Trainers will be able to take on special four-star Raid Battles. Claiming victory in one of these raids will cause more Sewaddle to appear around the Gym that hosted the raid for 30 minutes!

Four-Star Raid Battles

Swadloon will appear in four-star raids!

You can only join these raids using Raid Passes and Premium Battle Passes. Remote Raid Passes cannot be used to join these Raid Battles.

Four-Star Raid Battle Bonus

Once you successfully complete a four-star Raid Battle against Swadloon, additional Sewaddle will appear around the Gym that hosted the raid for 30 minutes.*

*Sewaddle that appear under these circumstances will have the same chance of appearing as a Shiny Pokémon as those that appear during October Community Day’s three-hour event period.

Field Research

October Community Day–themed Field Research will be available! Catch Sewaddle to earn rewards such as Stardust, Great Balls, additional encounters with Sewaddle, and more!

PokéStop Showcases

Be on the lookout for Showcases at different PokéStops during Sewaddle Community Day!

Pokémon GO Web Store – Ultra Community Day Box

An Ultra Community Day Box featuring 10 Ultra Balls, one Elite Charged TM, and one Special Research ticket will be available on the Pokémon GO Web Store during the event for US$4.99 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency). This web store deal will be available starting September 30, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. PDT, three days before the ticket is available in the in-game shop!

Now even more Trainers can enjoy the web store! Trainers with Pokémon Trainer Club (PTC) accounts will now be able to log in to the Pokémon GO Web Store with the same credentials used to log in to Pokémon GO. And don’t forget, Trainers can get a 15% discount on their first web store purchase of any item that costs US$9.99 or more!

Event Bundles

Two Community Day bundles will be available during this event.

For 1,350 PokéCoins, you will get 50 Ultra Balls, five Super Incubators, one Elite Charged TM, and five Lucky Eggs.

For 480 PokéCoins, you will get 30 Ultra Balls, one Incense, three Super Incubators, and one Lure Module.

Stickers

You’ll be able to get event-themed stickers by spinning PokéStops, opening Gifts, and purchasing them from the in-game shop.
