Hasbro and its Wizards of the Coast division revealed a new music project during Brand Licensing Europe 2024, titled “Dungeons & Dragons — Bardic Inspiration: A Musical Journey through the Forgotten Realms.” The album, created by composer Michael Gatt, is set to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Dungeons & Dragons and will be released in fall 2024 in vinyl, Dolby Atmos, and digital formats.
The album features 12 original tracks, each crafted to represent key locations within D&D’s Forgotten Realms setting. The music is intended to reflect the rich history and adventures that have shaped Dungeons & Dragons over the past 50 years.
Michael Gatt, along with co-producer Jeremy Jarvis and visual artistic director AJ Hanneld, traveled across the world for inspiration. They incorporated various instruments, unique sounds, and a 40-person choir into the album. The music seeks to evoke the landscapes and stories of the Sword Coast and other parts of the Forgotten Realms.
For collectors, the album will be available as a double vinyl edition (180g, gatefold), featuring exclusive artwork and design by TBWAChiatDay. This physical release aims to complement the album’s theme and celebrate Dungeons & Dragons’ half-century milestone.
“Dungeons & Dragons – Bardic Inspiration: A Musical Journey through the Forgotten Realms” will be available this fall, with the double vinyl edition priced at $49.99.
