Rock Manor Games is preparing to launch its newest project, StarDriven: Gateway, with a preview now available on Gamefound. This upcoming game is designed for 1 to 4 players and offers a playtime of approximately 30 minutes per player. It can be played competitively or cooperatively, depending on the episode selected during setup, providing a flexible and dynamic gameplay experience.
Set in a future where energy scarcity is no longer a concern, StarDriven: Gateway introduces players to a universe powered by Gravity Drives, a technology that allows starships to generate energy by navigating around celestial bodies. The game’s story revolves around the discovery of an ancient Gateway in the outer reaches of the galaxy, which has attracted various factions eager to uncover its secrets.
Players will select a unique faction, each with distinct ships, crew members, and technology upgrades, and take on the role of a starship captain. As the captain, players must manage their crew, assigning them to different stations on the ship to maintain power, shields, and weapons while completing missions across a randomly generated map. The game offers a blend of strategic decision-making, from exploring anomalies to confronting the Warbound faction, a threat that players can engage with in both competitive and cooperative modes.
In addition to managing their ship, players will also have the opportunity to build reputation with the Council of Independent Planets by completing missions and gaining control of key areas in the galaxy. Each episode in the game is designed to be replayable, with varying challenges and objectives that allow for different experiences with each playthrough.
The StarDriven: Gateway campaign is set to officially launch on Tuesday, October 1, and Rock Manor Games is offering special updates and a free gift for those who follow the project on Gamefound.
