Clint Hocking Releases Mythmaster RPG into Open Beta

Clint Hocking, known for his role in shaping modern video game narrative and mechanics, has ventured into new creative territory with the launch of a new entirely web-based TTRPG. This transition from video games to tabletop RPGs introduces Mythmaster RPG, now available in a free open beta after more than a decade of development. Known for his work on titles such as Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory and Far Cry 2, Hocking brings a long history of innovative design to the world of tabletop gaming.

Distinct from traditional tabletop games, Mythmaster RPG eliminates character classes and levels, introducing a modular skill field system for character development. The game is fully web-based and features a comprehensive set of Core Rules, a Character Generator, and a World Guide for the campaign universe of Tear, which spans over 6,500 years of history across eleven continents.

Included in the game are a Quickstart Guide, an introductory adventure titled “The Curse of Cosutanu”, a detailed Bestiary, and an NPC Guide that helps directors populate their games. Mythmaster also adopts an open licensing model, encouraging players to create, share, and sell their own content based on the game system and the universe of Tear.

The game remains accessible to all during its beta phase on its official website, where Hocking encourages the community to engage with the content and provide feedback. This community-driven approach aims to refine and enhance the game based on player experiences and input.

For gamers interested in exploring this new TTRPG, all resources are available for free during the beta period at www.mythmasterRPG.com.
