Stonemaier Games has officially announced their newest game, “Stamp Swap,” which is scheduled for release on September 4. This game will be the final new release for the year, with plans to feature it prominently at the Essen Spiel event and a broader retail release in late October.
“Stamp Swap,” designed by Paul Salomon, known for “Honey Buzz” and “Genotype,” introduces players to a competitive drafting game that incorporates an “I-cut-you-choose” and tile-placement mechanism, suitable for 1 to 5 players. The gameplay involves drafting from a mix of face-down and face-up tiles, including bonus cards, where players divide them into two groups. Participants choose one group from another player and retain the group left unselected. The objective is to organize and enhance their collections each round and achieve one of four possible goals. Notably, each goal can only be scored once, adding a strategic layer to the game.
Additionally, the game includes a detailed solo mode developed by Automa Factory, allowing for single-player engagement.
The theme of the game revolves around stamp collecting, emphasizing the importance of acquiring both a high quantity and quality of stamps, such as the coveted gold-foil stamps, which could lead to winning the top prize in the Stamp Swap competition.
Following its online release, “Stamp Swap” will be available at Essen Spiel and from various retailers in late October.
