For this edition of FanArt Friday, Pokémon Blog is delighted to feature the art of an extraordinary illustrator Pollosa Art.
She also participated in Pokédex Ilustrada, the project created by the masterminds of Ilustradoras Unidas.
Art means escapism for Pollosa.
It’s a way to show her personality to the world and to bring her own world into a sheet of paper.
“Pokémon has been my life, childhood, and emotional containment in my adult life,” she stated. “I’ve always bought a lot of stuff of Pokémon to make me feel better (I still keep some of them to this day).”
She’s glad to have the skill level to recreate what she likes (“even if it’s still low for her standards but good enough to be able to post it”).
Pollosa finds so much happiness when she can do artwork about Pokémon. A lot of her university projects also revolved around Pokémon.
“My favorite Pokémon is Latias. I love dragons. And if I could be a Pokémon, I would be her,” she shared. “I can’t forget to mention Torchic too. He was my first Pokémon ever. I collect them, and my personality is very chicken-like.”
