The crowdfunding campaign for “Plutocracy: Passengers,” an expansion to the board game Plutocracy, began on June 1st on Gamefound. This expansion builds on the success of the original game, which was also crowdfunded in 2022, by adding a solo mode and a passenger transport mechanism to the multiplayer experience.
The original Plutocracy game was noted for its strategic gameplay, and the new expansion, “Plutocracy: Passengers,” aims to extend these features. It introduces the role of transporting passengers within its multiplayer setting, where players pick up passengers and take them to their destinations. Completing these tasks allows players to receive various favors, which introduce new strategic elements and potential for competitive play.
Additionally, the expansion includes a solo mode where the player’s objective is to efficiently manage passenger transport across different routes and against time constraints. The game includes ten different planetary constellations, adding variety and replayability.
As of the latest update, the crowdfunding effort has secured nearly €1,000 with the support of 50 backers. The campaign has 24 days remaining to reach its financial goals.
