Chaosium is set to release a new supplement for the RuneQuest game series titled “Cults of RuneQuest: The Lunar Way,” scheduled for release on May 22nd. This new addition to the RuneQuest series expands on the game’s universe by introducing players to the deities of the Red Moon.
Priced at $39.99 and spanning 160 pages, the hardcover book, listed under ISBN 9781568824741, focuses on fifteen new cults, including those of Jakaleel the Witch, Teelo Norri, the Goddess of Youth, the Chaos demon known as the Crimson Bat, and the Red Goddess. It also provides an expanded look at the cult of the Seven Mothers.
The guide is designed to enhance player experience by detailing skills, passions, spirit magic, and Rune magic for each cult. It includes comprehensive information on the structure, history, and beliefs of each cult, alongside a novel Lunar magic system and updated rules for Lunar sorcery, which are influenced by the phases of the Red Moon.
Additionally, the book outlines the potential advancement of characters to roles such as God-talker, Rune Priestess, or Rune Lord, and delves into the history of the Lunar gods and the Lunar Empire, including adventures on the surface of the Red Moon.
“Cults of RuneQuest: The Lunar Way” can be integrated with the core RuneQuest rules and other Cults of RuneQuest books, allowing players to develop characters affiliated with multiple cults. The book will be available from Chaosium’s warehouses in the US, UK, and EU, and will reach the AU warehouse in June.
