Unexpected Games has announced the release of their latest board game, The Mandalorian: Adventures, designed by Corey Konieczka. This cooperative board game draws inspiration from the first season of the popular Disney+ series “The Mandalorian.”
Corey Konieczka shared his thoughts on the project: “I’ve always dreamed of making more Star Wars games, and The Mandalorian was the perfect inspiration. I think we really captured the spirit of the show in a compelling way, and I can’t wait for folks to play the game!”
The Mandalorian: Adventures allows players to embody one of eight characters from the series, each with a unique set of skill cards that define their strategic options. Players must collaborate to complete missions, tackle enemies, and resolve dilemmas, each contributing to the overall objectives of the missions.
The game is played on an illustrated map book that helps players visualize the scenarios and settings from the series. It is designed to be intuitive and accessible for newcomers but adds complexity and new elements such as additional rules and components as players progress through the game.
The game introduces a variety of gameplay mechanics, including over 210 cards, 142 tokens, and a hidden traitor mechanic that can alter the dynamics of gameplay, adding an element of surprise and requiring adaptation.
The Mandalorian: Adventures is set to be available in stores later this year at a price of $49.99, and can already be pre-ordered on the Asmondee store.
