Asmodee will release Ludonova’s Chandigarh, a new game in which players build a city in the north India from scratch, in May. The game takes place in 1951, when the Indian government commissioned renowned architect Le Corbusier to plan a new capital for Punjab. Players will compete for prestige points to win the game by having their city designs dominate.
The game features a unique card mechanic to construct buildings, use others’ constructions, and position for achieving plans. Players can also use the abilities of municipal employees, compete for key locations, and vie to fulfill the patterns of their plans.
The Chandigarh game box includes 12 double-sided Specialist Tiles, 16 double-sided Sector Tiles, 36 Project Cards, 16 Specialist Tokens, 72 Buildings, 4 Specialist Pawns, 1 Starting Player Token, 10 Street Tiles, 78 Prestige Point Tokens, 4 Architects, and 20 Supervisors.
Chandigarh is for 2-4 players, ages 10 and up, and plays in 60 minutes. MSRP is $34.99, and the game will street on May 24.
Ludonova released Amritsar, inspired by the Golden Temple in Amritsar, India, last year (see “Ludonova Builds a Golden Temple in ‘Amritsar’”).
