For this edition of FanArt Friday, Pokémon Blog is thrilled to display the Art of the incredible Javi, also known by her pseudonym N4rmy.
Art has been a part of Javi’s life since she was a child: “My family brought me closer to it. My maternal grandfather was a sculptor and a painter for many years. He was the first person who introduced me to different materials and techniques that weren’t as usual. On the other hand, since I was a baby, my mother has always encouraged and accompanied me to create… Art, for me (besides being a space for freedom, entertainment, and catharsis), is also a connection. Through Art, I’ve made connections with my family, communities, people who have become friends, people who are willing to pay or want to know more about you for what you are able to create.”
Pokémon is her happy place because it’s a link to her childhood.
She still owns her first Pokédex and the pogs that made her open a bag of chips. She has fond memories of saving her allowance to purchase her first deck of Pokémon cards.
“Also, I have two little brothers who are discovering this world, and they love it too. Pokémon allows us to bond and to have more things to share and play with,” she shared.
Combining her love for Pokémon and her passion for Art is very satisfying for Javi.
“I love painting, and being able to create fanart of something I love so much brings so much joy into my life. I hope I can keep doing this forever.”
“My favorite Pokémon is Dragapult. I really like dragon-type Pokémon. I love the curious fact about its tail being transparent and ghostly because, for many years, they couldn’t find a fossil of the complete tail of the animal that inspired him. Also, it has my favorite colors. So, how not to love it?”
