Christmas is approaching, Santa is tuning up his sleigh, and it’s time for a showbiz round-up!
Netflix and Legendary Entertainment are working on a My Hero Academia live-action movie, which will be based on the best-selling manga series (see “Review: ‘My Hero Academia’“). They’ve tapped Jobu Harold (Obi-Wan Kenobi) to pen the script and Shinsuke Sato (Alice in Borderland) to direct.
Crunchyroll revealed the release date for the Solo Leveling anime onto their platform as well as a new trailer (see below). The series, based on the hit manhwa (see “‘Solo Leveling’“), will start streaming on January 6, 2024.
Amazon Prime Video renewed Good Omens for Season 3, according to The Hollywood Reporter. This will be the final season of Good Omens, which began streaming back in 2019 (see “‘Good Omens’“).
A movie that explores the origins of Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time is in development, according Deadline. The Age of Legends is a live-action film that will be directed by BAFTA winner Kari Skogland and written by Zack Stentz. The movie will be set several millennia prior to the books. Recently, Dynamite Entertainment released an adaptation of Season 2 of the Prime Video series (see “‘The Wheel of Time: The Great Hunt’“).
Warner Bros. Pictures released a third trailer for Dune: Part Two (see below). This movie is slated to hit theaters on March 1, 2024 (see “Best in Shows — 2024“).
Marvel Studios unveiled a new trailer for What If…? Season 2 (see below). This series will hit streaming on December 22, 2023 (see “‘What If…?’“).
