For this edition of FanArt Friday, Pokémon Blog is excited to feature the art of Haven (haveneuh), an extremely talented illustrator, comic artist, animator, and designer from France.
Art has so much significance in Haven’s life.
For starters, drawing had always been his main hobby growing up, and being a part of an artsy community on the internet and in real life has helped him to develop his style and find his likes and what he wants to do as an artist faster.
“I have met a lot of my friends thanks to Art,” he shared. “I feel extremely lucky for having so many people looking forward to seeing what I create next… (I think) creation shouldn’t be defined and restricted by the amount of feedback it can get, but I’d be lying if I said that knowing that a community is there to see a piece of drawing when it gets done doesn’t help me to focus and find motivation. I’m very grateful for all the things art has brought me, including on a more personal level.”
Pokémon has always been his main fandom.
“It was the first thing I searched on the internet (forums, blogs, card creator, etc.) and YouTube,” he explained. “My attachment to the world of Pokémon in general has grown over the years. I’m especially a big fan of the Pokémon themselves, not really hating any. I also managed to bond with some people thanks to this universe I cherish, and I still do!”
Our featured artist described Pokémon as his “main go-to subject” with Art, even when he feels uninspired, frustrated, or just a bit down.
“It’s always relaxing for me to draw some potato-shaped Woopers. The designs of the creatures are so fun that it’s always a pleasure to give them a try, even if I’ve already drawn them ten times before. Pokémon has been the only fandom I’ve never stopped making content, and the only one that has inspired me continuously throughout the years. I think I’ve drawn the entirety of the Pokédex four times already (and I’m sure I’ll do it again in the future).”
“Mudkip used to be my favorite Pokémon, but I see him more as my mascot now. I still love him a ton, but my actual favorite tends to change a bit among a dozen of them. Currently I’d say my favorite would be Dwebble, or maybe Anorith or Skorupi (I’m a huge Bug-Type lover),” he concluded.
