Everything you need to know about Penny & Sylveon as a sync pair in Pokémon Masters EX

Pokémon Masters EX, the Pokémon strategy and battling game for mobile platforms, is now available for download on the App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android). In celebration of the game’s popularity, special in-game events and rewards are being offered for a limited time.

Get ready for this support sync pair that can lower the Fairy Type Rebuff of their opponents.

Get ready for the “fest-Eevee-ties” on Pasio! Trainers from all over are gathering to share their love for the Evolution Pokémon by showcasing their partner Eevee and its evolved forms. There’s one Eevee superfan from Paldea who’s a bit shy to get in on the fun, though—Penny, who loves all things Eevee but is nervous about meeting new people face-to-face. Even so, she’s committed to try and become a new version of herself on the unique island of Pasio. Watch as Penny figures herself out alongside her partner Pokémon, Sylveon, in Pokémon Masters EX’s latest story, Veevee on Pasio!

Penny is teaming up with Sylveon to form the second sync pair from Paldea in Pokémon Masters EX! Penny & Sylveon are a Fairy-type support sync pair that can easily lower the Sp. Def of their targets, as well as lower Fairy Type Rebuff with powerful passive skills. Their passive skill 1st Hit: Fairy Rebuff ↓ lowers the target’s Fairy Type Rebuff by one rank the first time Penny & Sylveon’s attack move is successful each battle. Since their Disarming Voice targets all opponents, this means that Penny & Sylveon can potentially lower the Fairy Type Rebuff of all three opponents at the start of a battle.

Penny is also a genius computer hacker, so it’s no wonder that Penny & Sylveon have the passive skill, Mind Games 9, which is guaranteed to lower the target’s Sp. Def by one stat rank when Penny & Sylveon’s attack move against it is successful. Like 1st Hit: Fairy Rebuff ↓, this effect can be triggered against all opponents with Disarming Voice.

For more details on this sync pair’s passive skills and moves, check out Penny & Sylveon’s in-game sync pair scout screen. Penny & Sylveon are available to scout until November 29, 2023, at 9:59 p.m. PST.

  • Diantha & Gardevoir
Diantha & Gardevoir are one of the strongest Fairy-type strike sync pairs in Pokémon Masters EX, but they take a while to get their Sp. Atk going without extra support. Penny & Sylveon’s Veevee Power raises the Sp. Atk of all allied sync pairs by four stat ranks and their critical-hit rate by two stat ranks. This allows Diantha & Gardevoir to deal plenty of damage with Dazzling Gleam and Moonblast without nearly as much setup time.

All of Diantha & Gardevoir’s moves do Fairy-type damage, which is a great advantage when the opponent’s Fairy Type Rebuff has been lowered by Penny & Sylveon’s 1st Hit: Fairy Rebuff ↓—and potentially at the start of battle, to boot! An early debuff maximizes the opportunity for Diantha & Gardevoir to deal increased damage to the entire opposing groupDiantha & Gardevoir are not currently available to scout, though they may return in the future!

  • May & Swampert
May & Swampert are like Diantha & Gardevoir—they do plenty of damage but don’t have a way to fully raise their own Sp. Atk. While they don’t share any attack types with Penny & Sylveon, these two sync pairs are still a perfect combo for doing high damage to all three opponents at once. Veevee Power ensures that May & Swampert can do maximum damage with Earth Power or Muddy Water. Penny & Sylveon’s passive skill Mind Games 9 further lowers the Sp. Def of their opponents with each hit, further paving the way for May & Swampert to deal increased damage. May & Swampert can be scouted from the general pool of 5★ sync pairs, as well as from the 5★-Guaranteed Ticket Scout and the 5★-Guaranteed Hoenn Ticket Scout.

Strive to break past your limits, Trainers!
