Marvel announced three new X-Men titles at their “Next Big Thing” panel at the just-concluded New York Comic Con. The promotional art shown here is by Mark Brooks.
Fall of the House of X, written by Gerry Duggan, art by Lucas Werneck, and Rise of the Powers of X, written by Kieron Gillen, art by R.B. Silva, will conclude the Krakoa Age of storytelling that began in 2019 with Jonathan Hickman’s House of X and Powers of X (see “Hickman Leads to New X-Men Universe”).
Fall will launch January 3 with a cover by Pepe Larraz, with Rise following on January 10 with cover by R.B. Silva. Fall features Cyclops on trial for murder with many other mutants missing or dead, while Rise features the X-Men fighting the anti-mutant organization Orchis. Both are promised to include the X-Men of today and tomorrow.
The third tie-in series is Resurrection of Magneto, by Al Ewing and Luciano Vecchio, cover by Stefano Caselli, out January 24. Although the old X-Men enemy died in last year’s comics, Storm attempts to bring him back to aid the mutant fight in this four-issue miniseries.
Here’s a trailer featuring art from the upcoming series.
