Fans of Bug-type Pokémon are in for a treat—Pokémon GO’s September 2023 Community Day features Grubbin. The Larva Pokémon, originally discovered in Alola, will be in the spotlight on September 23, 2023, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. local time. During this time, Grubbin will appear more frequently in the wild, and lucky Trainers might even catch a Shiny Grubbin! Evolve Charjabug—Grubbin’s first Evolution—during the event or up to five hours afterward to get a Vikavolt that knows the Fast Attack Volt Switch.

Bug out with the following exciting event bonuses!

  • 3× XP for catching Pokémon
  • 2× Candy for catching Pokémon
  • 2× chance for Trainers Level 31+ to receive Candy XL for catching Pokémon
  • Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours
  • Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for three hours
  • Take a few snapshots during Community Day for a surprise
  • One additional Special Trade can be made for a maximum of 2 for the day (from 2:00 to 10:00 p.m. local time)
  • Trades will require 50% less Stardust (from 2:00 to 10:00 p.m. local time)

Get your Community Day research on with Timed Research, Field Research, and a Special Research story. The Timed Research will be available from 2:00 to 10:00 p.m. local time and includes the opportunity to earn a Magnetic Lure. Catch Grubbin for Field Research tasks to earn rewards such as encounters with Grubbin, Stardust, Ultra Balls, and more. And the Community Day Special Research story Plugging Along is available for US$1.00, or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency. Tickets are available to purchase or to gift in the in-game shop.

Make the most of the Community Day fun with four-star Raid Battles featuring Charjabug from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. After a successful Raid Battle, more Grubbin will appear around the Gym that hosted the raid for 30 minutes. These four-star raids are not accessible via Remote Raid Passes—they can only be accessed with Raid Passes and Premium Battle Passes.

Happy Community Day, Trainers!
