Just in time for the festive season, The Op Games (Usaopoly) and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products have teamed up to introduce a holiday-themed board game that promises to make your Christmas the “hap-hap-happiest” one yet. Say hello to MONOPOLY®: National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation Edition.
Relive the Chaos of the Griswolds
Built under license by Hasbro, this new edition allows fans to dive back into the quirky world of the Griswold family, famously featured in the Christmas comedy classic, “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.” Now, you can buy, sell, and trade iconic locations from the movie like Clark’s Lighting Display, Griswold Family Christmas Tree Site, and many more.
Custom Tokens and New Features
But that’s not all. The game features custom movie-inspired tokens, including a Dry Turkey, Chainsaw, Squirrel, Snots, Marty Moose Eggnog Glass, and Film Reel. Players can use these tokens to navigate the board, setting up Houses—now humorously renamed as “Decorations”—and Hotels, which are now called “Christmas Spirit.”
Watch out, though! Along your merry way, you may find yourself stuck with payments for Chemical Toilet Storm Drain and Jelly of the Month, which could set you back on your quest to win.
Special Cards for Extra Fun
The game incorporates special “Hap-Hap-Happiest Christmas” (Community Chest) and “Save the Neck for Me, Clark!” (Chance) cards. Use these to accumulate more Griswold Bucks and outwit your opponents. Be the last player standing with Griswold Bucks to claim victory.
Game Details
Designed for two to six players, the game is suited for ages 15 and up. Priced at an MSRP of $44.99, MONOPOLY®: National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation Edition is already available for purchase on The Op’s website.
“We’re thrilled to be adding another iconic license to our line, especially the hilarious classic National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation,” said Dane Chapin, CEO of The Op. “We love making new, custom versions of MONOPOLY and are especially excited to launch this one ahead of the holidays.”
