Drawn & Quarterly Announces ‘Giant Robot,’ ‘Curtis’ Collections

Drawn & Quarterly Publisher Peggy Burns and Executive Editor Tom Devlin announced a number of upcoming books during their “Focus on Drawn & Quarterly” panel at San Diego Comic-Con.  The books will be published in 2024-26, and some are so new they don’t have titles yet.  The list includes Giant Robot: 30 Years of Defining Asian-American Pop Culture, edited by Eric Nakamura, a look at the magazine and the website that showcase Asian and Asian-American popular culture.

Also announced at the panel:

  • A collection of Ray Billingsley’s newspaper comic Curtis.
  • Two untitled books, a collection of comics and a graphic novel, by Ignatz Award-winning cartoonist Tara Booth.
  • Firebugs, a story that wraps together global warming, questions of identity, and fire, by German creator Nino Bulling.
  • GLEEM, by Freddy Carrasco, a trilogy of Afrofuturistic stories first published by the Swedish small press Peow in 2019.
  • An untitled gay stoner comedy graphic novel by Caroline Cash.
  • Milk White Steed, by British cartoonist Michael D. Kennedy, a collection of stories about the lives of West Indian immigrants in the UK.
  • The Flower’s Fault, a candy-colored story of a barren land where only one single flower grows, by Spanish cartoonist Maria Medem.
