Pokémon Sleep, the sleep tracker app that turns sleep into entertainment, is starting to become available on Google Play for Android mobile devices.

How to Play Pokémon Sleep
To play Pokémon Sleep, players place their smartphone device or Pokémon GO Plus + by their pillow and go to sleep[1]. When they wake up, they can check the results of the sleep tracking, study the sleep styles of the Pokémon that have appeared, and work together with Pokémon sleep researcher Professor Neroli to record them in the Sleep Style Dex. The more sleep players get, and the bigger Snorlax becomes, the more Pokémon they can meet, and the more sleep styles they’ll be able to discover. Players can also raise Snorlax during the day.

The Three Sleep Types
Pokémon Sleep categorizes sleep into three types: Dozing, Snoozing, and Slumbering. Pokémon whose sleeping pattern matches the player’s sleep type will gather around Snorlax. After players have studied the sleep styles of the gathered Pokémon, they can give Pokémon Poké Biscuits. This will make them friendlier, and they’ll become able to join players as helper Pokémon.

Gather Drowsy Power and Raise Snorlax
In Pokémon Sleep, players will be assigned a “sleep score” based on how long they’ve slept. Players get 100 points when they sleep for at least 8.5 hours. The longer players sleep, the greater Snorlax’s Drowsy Power will become, which in turn determines how many Pokémon gather each time they wake up.

During the day, the player’s helper Pokémon will gather Berries to give to Snorlax, and can activate skills to support them in raising Snorlax. Helper Pokémon can gather Berries even during times of the day when Pokémon Sleep is not being played.

New Research Begins Every Monday
Every Monday, players will choose a new site to move to and encounter a new Snorlax to raise there. This begins a new week of sleep research. The Pokémon encountered will differ depending on the area players are in. More Pokémon may come to sleep on the weekends, and there may even be rarer species than usual!

Share Sleep Research with Friends in the Research Community
Players can register another player as a friend to share their sleep duration and sleep type with them, as well as information like the number of sleep styles studied and the Pokémon in their helper teams. Players can also get rewards for reviewing their friends’ sleep research.

Learn More about the Pokémon GO Plus + Device
Inside the Pokémon GO Plus + device, there’s a nightcap-wearing Pikachu that players can meet in Pokémon Sleep when their Pokémon GO Plus + device is paired with Pokémon Sleep.

Usually, players build teams of five from the Pokémon they meet in Pokémon Sleep, but the nightcap-wearing Pikachu can fill in as a sixth team member!

If players connect their Pokémon GO Plus + device to Pokémon GO and spin PokéStops, their Pokémon GO Plus + device will keep a record of it and give them Berries when it is connected to Pokémon Sleep.

[1]Don’t place your device under your pillow or blankets, as it may overheat.

Pokémon Sleep is intended for entertainment purposes only and is not intended for use in detection, diagnosis or treatment of any medical condition or disease.

To play Pokémon Sleep, you’ll start off by tracking your sleep at night before studying the sleep styles of the Pokémon that have gathered the next morning. Then, during the day, you’ll be able to raise Snorlax. Snorlax will grow bigger as you get more sleep, which in turn will attract more Pokémon to your island and allow you to discover more sleep styles.

Your Pokémon Sleep journey begins with a good night’s sleep! Just place your smart device or Pokémon GO Plus + (more on that below) by your pillow and drift off to dreamland. Pokémon Sleep will track your sleep as you snooze.

After a restful slumber, it’s time to start your sleep research. There are Snorlax living all over the islands in Pokémon Sleep, and they exert a mysterious power called Drowsy Power which draws Pokémon near and lulls them to sleep. Using Professor Neroli’s Sleep Synchronizer, Snorlax’s Drowsy Power is amplified and Snorlax’s sleep is synced with your own, encouraging all sorts of Pokémon to gather around Snorlax.

Pokémon Sleep categorizes sleep into three types: Dozing, Snoozing, and Slumbering. Your sleep will be classified as one of these, and Pokémon whose sleeping pattern matches your sleep type will show up near Snorlax. As more Pokémon flock to Snorlax, you can study their sleep styles and record them in your Sleep Style Dex. You’ll also be able to befriend these Pokémon by giving them tasty Poké Biscuits. This will cause them to feel friendlier toward you, and they’ll be able to join you as helper Pokémon.

True to their name, helper Pokémon will assist you during the day by gathering Berries and ingredients, even when you’re not playing Pokémon Sleep. These items can be made into dishes to feed Snorlax, which helps Snorlax gain more Strength. As Snorlax’s Strength increases, more Pokémon may be drawn to your campsite—and you might even observe some rarer sleep styles.

Every Monday you’ll move to a different site and encounter a new Snorlax to raise there. Each Snorlax’s Drowsy Power will need to be built up from scratch, but you’ll likely encounter different Pokémon when you enter a new area. Keep playing all week to see more Pokémon stop by to sleep on the weekends (and you might even see some rarer species then, too!).

Register another player as a friend, and you’ll be able to share your sleep duration and sleep type with them, as well as various other kinds of information, like the number of sleep styles you’ve studied and the Pokémon in your helper teams. You can also get rewards for reviewing your friends’ sleep research.

To help get you form consistent sleep habits, Pokémon Sleep has a bedtime feature that lets you set a target time to go to bed. By meeting that goal, you can earn a stamp on your stamp card and receive rewards.

The Pokémon GO Plus + device allows you to keep track of your sleep with the press of a button. After pairing Pokémon GO Plus + to your Pokémon Sleep app, it can be placed by your pillow to measure your sleep throughout the night. Not only that, but there’s also a nightcap-wearing Pikachu inside the Pokémon GO Plus + device that you can meet in Pokémon Sleep!

Although you can normally build teams of five helper Pokémon from among the Pokémon you’ve met in Pokémon Sleep, this lovable Pikachu can fill in as a sixth team member. This Pikachu will let out a cry from the Pokémon GO Plus + device to let you know when the wake-up time and bedtime you’ve chosen has arrived. It will even sing you a lullaby when you begin tracking your sleep. The longer you track your sleep using Pokémon GO Plus +, the friendlier nightcap-wearing Pikachu will become towards you. As it does, it’ll collect more Berries and wake you up with different cries.

You can even earn some Pokémon Sleep bonuses by connecting the Pokémon GO Plus + device to Pokémon GO. When you spin PokéStops in Pokémon GO, the device will keep a record of it and give you Berries when you connect it to Pokémon Sleep.

The Pokémon GO Plus + device will be released on July 14, 2023—and remember that you can preregister on Google Play now to play Pokémon Sleep when it releases later this summer.
