Harumi Fuuki will be an Otakon 2023 Guest
Composer and pianist Harumi Fuuki will be a guest at Otakon 2023, according to Otakorp Inc. She is the composer for the animated film, “The Tunnel to Summer, the Exit of Goodbyes.” The subtitled version of the film will premiere at Otakon.
Fuuki was born in Osaka, Japan. She completed graduate school after graduating at the top of her class with a major in music composition from the Kunitachi College of Music. In 2013 she won the trophy for Best Music Score at the 36th Japan Academy Awards for her work on “Chronicle of My Mother.” She was also in charge of music for the NHK TV series “Massan” and “Segodon,” as well as for the movie “What Happened to Our Nest Egg?”
Her other works include “And, the Baton Was Passed,” “The First Gentleman,” “The Deer King,” “Lonely Castle in the Mirror,” Shiki Theatre Company’s original musical “The Boy and the Beast,” and NHK’s TV serial “Soar!”
Otakon 2023 will be held from July 28 to July 30 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
