Full details revealed for the Pokémon GO Adventure Week event, which runs from July 27 to August 2 and marks the debuts of Mega Tyranitar, Shiny Mega Tyranitar, Shiny Tyrunt, Shiny Tyrantrum, Shiny Amaura and Shiny Aurorus

Niantic is continuing to announce new events and content for Pokémon GO. Read on below to learn more:

Adventurers,

Rock-type and Fossil Pokémon are everywhere! It must be that time of year again—Adventure Week will soon be upon us. Get ready to catch and hatch your favorite ancient Pokémon!

In a groundbreaking new development, Mega Tyranitar will also emerge for the first time in Pokémon GO. Be sure to take on this colossal power in Mega Raids during the event!

And, for the first time in Pokémon GO, you’ll be able to encounter Shiny Tyrunt and Shiny Amaura—if you’re lucky! Tyrunt and Amaura hatched from Eggs during the event will have a greater chance of being a Shiny Pokémon than Tyrunt or Amaura found in the wild.

Wild encounters

The following Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild. Also, for the first time in Pokémon GO, you’ll be able to encounter Shiny Tyrunt and Shiny Amaura—if you’re lucky!

Eggs

The following Pokémon will hatch from 7 km Eggs. Also, Tyrunt and Amaura hatched from Eggs will have a greater chance of being a Shiny Pokémon than Tyrunt or Amaura found in the wild.

Aurora adventures

Keep an eye on the horizon! Trainers will find a colorful surprise if they look to the skies during Adventure Week.

Field Research task encounters

Adventure Week–themed Field Research tasks will be available!

The following Pokémon will be available to encounter when you complete Field Research tasks!

Paid Timed Research

For US$2.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you’ll be able to access event-exclusive Timed Research.

Complete research tasks related to exploring to earn two Incubators, a Super Incubator, and encounters with event-themed Pokémon!

Please note that Timed Research expires. The Timed Research tasks and their rewards will disappear on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at 8:00 p.m. local time.

Trainers will be able to purchase and gift tickets to any of their Pokémon GO friends that they have achieved a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher with. Please note that purchases—including those made for other Trainers—are non-refundable (subject to applicable law and the exceptions set forth in the Terms of Service). Tickets cannot be purchased with PokéCoins.

The Adventure Week Timed Research Ticket will only be available in the in-game shop from Thursday, July 27, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. to Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at 8:00 p.m. local time.

Free Timed Research

Free event-exclusive Timed Research will also be available. This Timed Research will ask Trainers to choose between exploration- and research-focused tasks.

Please note that Timed Research expires. The Timed Research tasks and their rewards will disappear on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at 8:00 p.m. local time.

Event Bonuses

2× XP for spinning PokéStops.
5× XP for spinning a PokéStop for the first time.
1/2 Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed into Incubators during the event.

Collection Challenge

An Adventure Week Collection Challenge is coming!

Complete the Collection Challenge by the end of the event to earn encounters with Tyrunt and Amaura, as well as Stardust.
